Financial Controller

With a firm grip on the present and a clear vision for the future, we’re looking for a professional Financial Controller to join our team on a temporary, part-time basis (20-28 hours per week) from mid-June until January (7 months) with the possibility of extension based on business needs and performance.

What will you do?

As a Financial Controller, you’ll oversee the company’s financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

You will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and work closely with the Finance Officers to guarantee the accuracy of the financial statements. You will also be part of a very dynamic Finance team, working alongside Inge (Finance Controller), Mies (Business Controller), and our Finance Officers, Carla and Bastian.

Your responsibilities include:

• Overseeing the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports.

• Handling the VAT (BTW) return, including the ICP return.

• Coordinating the audit of the annual statements, with a particular focus on the Interim Audit in October, in collaboration with our accountants.

• Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards.

• Conducting detailed financial analyses to support business decisions and strategies.

• Foster collaboration within the Finance team and mentoring Finance Officers.

• Joint collaboration with the People Team to perform a final payroll check and ensure accuracy, timely payment, and correct bookkeeping entry.

How will success be measured?

• Accuracy and timeliness of financial reports and statements.

• Compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

• Smooth execution of the audit process, particularly the Interim Audit in October.

• Correct and timely handling of VAT (BTW) and ICP returns.

• Authorization of annual audits and accuracy in monthly payroll processing.

What are we looking for?

You are a financial expert with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for optimizing financial processes. With at least 3 to 5 years of experience in financial management or accounting (preferably in the business services industry), you have the skills to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency.

You hold a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, and a CPA or CMA certification is a plus.

• Accurate, analytically strong, and proactive.

• Preferably experienced with Exact Online and highly proficient in Excel.

• Strong knowledge of VAT (BTW) and ICP returns.

• A team player with a fresh and open mindset.

• Native level of Dutch and Proficient level of English.

• Available for 20-28 hours per week.

• Based in the Netherlands, open to both remote work and occasional office visits.
